With Polyvagl theory we will look at the role of the nervous system and identify its various states (fight, flight, freeze/please) You will learn about how to recognize these states in yourself and find new ways to regulate your nervous system when you are feeling triggered.

DBT is helpful for identifying emotions through mindfulness practices that teach you how your emotions show up in your thoughts and inside your body. DBT also teaches a variety to coping skills to learn to regulate intense emotions and also focuses on healthy communication skills .

This model focuses on trauma stored in the body through body awareness and body oriented techniques. We wil practice these techniques in session for you to be able to do on your own.
